http://www.amazon.fr/exec....6599316 Received this book yesterday and glanced through it quickly. Nice book with lots of pictures. It's written by someone who's not in the shoe businessand it's like a mini-version of the Vass/Molnar Handmade Shoes for Men. It has maybe a bit more about the history of footwear throughout the centuries, and the shoe models are more current. Nice book to have but not a neccessity if you already have the Vass book.

I ordered from http://www.amazon.fr. I logged in using my amazon.com account/password and all my address and credit card information was transferred seamlessly. The book took about 10 days to get here. Even if you don't understand French, I think it would be straightforward to use Amazon.fr and navigate the ordering process. In case it wan't obvious, from my initial post the book is entirely in French.

A quick translation of the publisher's presentation:
Because he used to be told: "One is nothing in this world without impeccable shoes", Jean-Jacques Ficat, very early on, became passionate about this accessory so often overlooked by men.  Shoes don't hold any secret for him. He tells us everything about their history: models nowadays, materials used, how they are manufactured, how to buy them correctly, where to find them, secrets for making them look good and for keeping them longer... A refined and elegant book for elegant and refined men.
