I own a pair of the Rocker and Classic fits from Jean Shop and I must say that the fit and overall denim quality is excellent. I also think they are a bit more durable compared to some of the other brands that they own and I feel that while their price point may be a bit steep, their durability more than makes up for it. While it may not have the same level of cache as say Rag & Bone I think the overall value of a Jean Shop pair is much higher hands down.

The store on W Broadway is awesome. Not a huge store, but they pack a whole shitload of stuff in there. They do awesome leather pieces and I've been working on a pair of the classic fit for the last 5 months or so. Great quality, awesome detail and a perfect fit. I recommend them highly.

Forum-affiliate Farinelli's carries all the models at 20% off.

I actually (cough) stole (cough) my Skinny pair at the holiday party last month and have been wearing them off/on since. I had tried them on before at BlueBee but forgot/didn't listen to Get Smart's advice about sizing down two and only sized down one. They fit a touch loose around my waist but don't think it's that bad as I've gone with a more "anti-fit" fit. I like the way they sort of slouch on me while still being fairly slim (but in NO way skinny) on me.

Honestly, I think this might be my favorite fitting jeans. My old RRL slim cut is fantastic as a standard slim jean but I feel this is truly a great "not-so-skinny" cut with near perfect dimensions.

Raves:
-The 14oz denim is much lighter than I expected making them much more versatile. For reference, they feel like a stiffer version of my pair of rb15s.
-The denim is color is rich without being very complex (5EP), ordinary (LVC), or saturated (Spurr). As others have mentioned (not specifically here), it looks and feels like a much-improved version of APC.
-Love the orange selvage, stitching, and details (selvage fly).
-Love the feel of the riri zipper.
-Love the hardware, construction, and "born on" date.
-Love the leather patch.
-Excellent cut.

Gripes:
-Miss the hidden back pocket rivets.
-The Skinny model is unisex making the coin pocket tiny and purely for show.
-The Skinny model is unisex making the pocket bags incredibly shallow.

Some would argue that the pricepoint is set a little high compared to its Japanese counterparts known for their more unique denim and greater focus on traditional details but I almost find that as unfair as comparing apples and oranges. Not only are they made in different countries (Jean Shop is made in the USA with Japanese denim) but their aesthetics are notably different. The bottom line is that they're a great pair of jeans with a few bells and whistles that set them apart from the rest.

I had to send my Classic back to Farinelli to exchange it for a smaller size. Not to hammer the point but please size down.

Same price as APC? That's a deal. I got some Rockers this summer and they're great; I'm not feeling the silhouette as much anymore, and I prefer a button fly and rivets, but the denim is off the hook, especially for that price. Peep game:

I may think about putting mine up in FS and copping a sized up pair for a different fit if someone doesn't beat me to it...

Totally agree on all the Hits.

That gripe is my only gripe, very shallow front pockets but nothing I can't live with.

It really is as close to *my* perfect jean as it gets (the skinny unisex cut, not the Rocker or classic). It's what a slim jean should be, and it's not "skinny" at all.

Ello ello ello...these pics show a button fly:

https://secure.shoppolitesociety.com...egoryID=Bottom

Although it appears they use the same pics for the Skinny fit, which makes me think that maybe they just took some detail pics of the classic cut and recycled them. Anyone know if they're actually using buttons now?

If I'm going to have a zipper, it may as well be a Riri, but I still prefer buttons.
