I was wondering which colour shoe cream should i use?

Should i go for Saphir's Pommadier 05 Dark Brown or should i go for 34 Havana Brown ?

Some shots of the shoe by mr.renworks on Instagram. My pair have not shipped yet

Fantastic looking pair AJ! I would answer your question based on other shoes I own. I use the Havana Brown for my EG Doak Dovers & Chelseas. The Dark Brown (it is really dark) on the EG Ebony Utah Grain (Sons of Henrey has the same dark leather). So you want to darken them up (although they seem pretty dark) go with the dark brown. Keep them as is, havana brown.

Great pair! I had a pair made for me around 2 years ago. Visited their shop/home in Tokyo and met the team making the shoes, was a good experience! Hope you like your new purchase.

Little shoe Appreciation as we come up to the end of the decade - what a decade it’s been for Japanese bespoke! Marquess round toe and Kiyo Uda square toes.

I passed by Tokyu Hands in Shinjuku yesterday and picked up an idea that I tried with great success that I’ve come to name the #mizuwaripolish

It involves mixing whisky in the 1/3 to water 2/3 ratio and using this in the glacage finish after you have built up a wax base. The water dispenser bottle is available at Tokyu Hands. I used Saphir Pate de Luxe.

Did you polish the brass tacks on the toe of the shoe only as an example of what shine you can achieve using whiskey or is there a functional reason? I would imagine wax buildup on the toe would cause a slippery feel when walking

Correct - I was trying the side of the soles with my whisky mixture, and thought it would be a good challenge to see how it works on `raw` damaged leather....but not a good idea to glacage the toe tips, I agree.

BTW, I see now Tokyo hands have the whisky technique on their site too!
