A lot of times thiefs look for cars with out of state plates thinking more items are in the car. Also certain cars are more desirable to take like mainstream Honda's & Toyota's.

They should make exploding glass that responds to hostile movements. So that when a thief tries to break into the car, the window explodes, and shards of glass shoot into the thief's eyes, blinding him forever. Wa-POW!

Sounds great and all, until you get in a car accident and the fire and EMS guys have to break a window to get access to your bloody, mangled body to try to save your life.

Was talking about driving in SA with a South African colleague. It's accepted practice over there that you don't have to stop at red lights whilst driving at night because of the carjacking risk. (Not a licence to drive like a maniac though - you just don't have to stop if there is no oncoming traffic.)

And when you're white, you can shoot first and ask question later.
