I love the jacket fabric, but the gorge is awfully high -- practically on your shoulder. Where does it come from?

That's an interesting observation - the gorge height is 8cm and measures lower than some of the other brands I wear, namely Cavour (6.5cm) and Natalino (7.5cm). What you might be seeing is some distortion as a result of the camera angle these were shot at (shot low with camera angled upwards).

The jacket is a remote MTM through Massura and this is their standard 3r2 house cut.

This appears to be one of your most successfully put together outfits I can recall you posting. The cooler tone of blues and greys look so much sharper and suit you so much better than the stuck-in-the-1990s sea of taupe and garish ties that has been your stock in trade. Further steps in this direction are to be encouraged!

Jury is still out on whether baby blue chalk stripes are in good taste but today’s meetings called for a F-ck you suit and I love this cloth. It’s a buttery soft almost wet feeling flannel made out of S160s, cashmere and silver mink.

Thanks for the explanation!

Hard to beat a PoW suit with blue overcheck. I have one in summer weight worsted. Is yours flannel? Is the base colour black or charcoal? Black (lace-up, obvs!!) shoes might have been a better choice but I’m having a deja vu here that this might have been discussed before.
I’m not the best with technical fabric details, but I think it’s a carded flannel. The base is definitely dark. Hard to say charcoal or black. I chose the brown monks to go with the brown tie. I think black shoes would have called for a different tie.

I’m convinced that bold chalk stripes work best with flannel. Maybe it’s the texture and matte finish that balances out the bold stripe. Nonetheless, great choice in cloth.
