Agreed. The first thing I do with every new shirt I get is to take out the collar stays and bin them.
For my next set of experiments, I will leave the collar stays at home and see what happens. Hopefully nobody will be seriously injured.

Yesterday, I had the very great pleasure of meeting @upr_crust for lunch in London Town at the modern British restaurant, The Northall at the Corinthia Hotel. Afterwards we made our way to Jermyn Street for a little shopping. I am sure Crusty will give a full report of his purchases on his return to NYC. In the meantime, here are one or two pictures of the event:

Since I had to cycle to work on a Sunday I chose something more festive. Gladly I have a steamer in my office. A chance to inaugurate my latest footwear acquisition. Tie is an amazing knit that the camera unfortunately cannot fully capture.

@chocsosa

Eghosa, like me you definitely need custom shoes. Looks like you have a very high instep, whereas I have the opposite problem (flat feet with low instep, narrow heels and overall low foot volume). Either that or your shoes are the wrong size (too narrow).

If you think finding the right fit in tailoring is a headache, wait till you address your footwear wardrobe. Total agony and very expensive unless you go Bespoke which is a story for another day.

And please brother, do me a favor and get a shine on that leather ;)
