Nolita is cool, desserts are good on Mulberry, but that is about it. Any place that tries to woo you into their restaurant should be avoided at all costs. It is worse than 6th street in the East Village. Anybody familiar knows what I mean.

the only hawkers that are worse than the restaurant ones are the comedy club ones.

I have never been to San Diego, but in my mind is it full of people in pop-punk bands with purple hair and shell necklaces.

Like every other city in the U.S. it has been misappropriated by hipsters. At least the Gaslamp has. Yet another reason not to go down there too often. I personally like the Gaslamp, but god damn are there a lot of pretentious people there.

That's like the entirety of the Plaka in Athens. If there is a place like that in the U.S. I will stay far away.

You are welcome. The coat is a British tweed from the 1940´s. I found it on Old Spitalfield Markets in London a few weeks ago. The plus fours, from the same time, I bought in a vintage-barn 80 km from Stockholm. Second hand Trickers shoes from a vintage store i Stockholm. The new socks (Pantharella?) and the new Borsalino hat you can find everywhere. The horn glasses is vintage too, probably from the 1930-40´s. Now we wait for Victors answer.

Quite true - Little Italy now consists of middling-quality Italian restaurants on Mulberry St., hemmed in with the expansion of Chinatown. All the coolness happens further north, towards Alphabet City, unless it's heavily funded, then it occurs in Soho and Tribeca.

Hey! There are PHENOMENAL places to dine in Little Italy!

Well there is a major distinction between the two. Al thrifts and shops, Victor commissions clothes. Not even a similar practice, imo.

You shop the way you want to shop. They just sit on your shoulder (literally, if that sort of thing floats your boat) and whisper into your ear what they think you should buy and where you should buy it.

I don't think a lot of people's clothes sit on their shoulders. I think a lot of people's clothes are suspended at their waists.
