High bottom-most shirt buttons

Hi.

I like Duchamp shirts and have many, but I notice that the bottom-most button are really high. The last button appears above my belt line, so after a bit of walking there appears a gap where my undershirt is visible. My trousers are medium to high rise and sit at the correct height around my pelvis.

Is this a common problem? I can have an extra button sewn on but it seems like a failure of design.

Interested to hear your thoughts.

Some people (me) are long wasted. That is, my torso is "tall" but the rest of my body is mostly average.

In my case I have longer arms as well so I buy Tall shirts off the rack. I had the same gap problem you mention. I spent years at uniy and beyond dressed this way and no one seemed to care, but eventually I cared. You can wander around shirt brands looking for a fix, but in my experience that won't work long-term because the brand can change with the winds of fashion (or when they hire a short Chief Designer). Dressing toward (or away from ) any particular brand is a workaround, not a fix (the life of a well dressed gentlman will last much longer than any brand or trend).

I never had a button added to the bottom - but I do remembeer using a safety pin at times when I was young and not "in funds".

I would look into tall sized shirts and see about having the sleevles altered if you need. I can get this done in the USA for a fraction of the price of a new shirt. I think I paid $32 USD the last time I has this done (to a Robert Talbott with crazy long sleves for some reason). If you are like me, once you get one shirt that fits just right you will have no appetite for compromise therafter.
