Baggy High Rise Trousers (Single Reverse Pleats)

I just recently bought high rise trousers from Spier & Mackay in contemporary size. They are sitting just under my belly button.

My gf says they are laughably baggy right now. I agree somewhat. With single reverse pleats ... is it easy for a tailor to take them in or does it cause problems?
Also in the future should I keep the waist size with Spier & Mackay high rise .. but go with slim fit?

Not baggy, just too much break. Ask your GF if she thinks these are too baggy. They're more or less the look that yours are going for. (Hat tip: Matt Spaiser).

And here is a side-view of some well-fitting bespoke trousers. Yours aren't too far off that. You could do with less break, that's all. See Connery's example and that in the side view. Otherwise, looks good. Skin-tight tailored clothes are uncomfortable.

Speaking of which, for future purchases: I find forward pleats more comfortable than reverse. Forward moves the ease to the front of the belly and the crotch, where we can all use it when sitting down. Reverse throws it to the hips, where few men need it. Above, Connery wears double forward pleats.

Agreed that it doesn't look too baggy to my eyes! Definitely hem. You can also have the tailor add a cuff if that seems appealing to you, which may help with how the pants drape.

As someone who mostly bought "slim fit" trousers from 2010 - 2020, once I started wearing a classic fit I definitely felt at first I was swimming in fabric. But with a few wears I became much more comfortable in them.
