My first pair of GS, "none more brown", is, as you all know, a great pair of boots. After a few wears, they are breaking in nicely.
I was made aware of Grant Stone footwear from reading reddit. Reading all of the positive feedback and loyal customers on this thread made it clear they would not disappoint. It's also nice to wear footwear that you know the owners and makers take pride in.
Here's a couple pics from walking the dogs in a bit of drizzle today. Charlie is both shocked and impressed to see me in quality kicks!

They do look good with that sole, better than the stock GS rubber sole and a LOT better than Dainite (which is not as good as the GS rubber sole). Leather might have been choice for me, but Commando is second.
Yeah - it's as well-done a topy-type sole as I've ever seen. Some nails at the tips to help guard against peel at the toes, etc.

Of course it added a premium from the cost of the shoes, so given a choice between that and the Grant Stone rubber sole, I'd be fine with the GS sole. I'm still surprised how much I like that sole given how much I dislike Dainite - amazing what shorter, more numerous studs and a softer compound can do...
