Huge fan of Chups too. Usually with some careful searching around the internet I manage to find some on sale. Especially on Xmas type patterns around the holidays. What I really like about them is that they have actual sizes, instead of that "one size fits all" approach, which in my experience means socks that are typically too big.
Some of my one size fits all socks definitely tend to be loose in the toes. Ayame and Anonymousism come to mind.

@SJR3 must not like Chups then?

+1 Most socks fall down and slide around on my foot. Size medium has changed my life.

Will probably get some Darn Tough Lightweight Lifestyle socks for regular dress wear and the Standard Crew Lifestyle socks for something a bit thicker to wear casually.

Sizing advice: I measure just under 9.5d on the brannock device. I wear 9.5 in Adidas ultraboost, 9d in quoddy boat mocs, 9 in LL Bean boots, and 9 in dexter bowling shoes. Based on the half size down, sounds like I should order an 8.5d?

I think you need a 9.

Wow it looks like like the brass boot is really popular based on how many make ups have come out. What makes this style so popular? Is it because people are wearing them as work boots? I dont see that style very often in my city or even suburbs.

I think it's a nice looking casual boot. Similar to classic redwing moc toes. Seems like if you're looking for something to really beat up but want a nice quality pair of boots these are a good option. Don't personally own a pair yet, just an FYI

Photos might make this boot look a little more work-oriented than it really is. In my opinion, it's not as casual as most RW boots, or what people would consider a typical heritage boot.

Could you tell us more about the Floyd last? The website just says higher toe box walls, I think.

The Floyd shares the heel of the leo last. The forepart was changed to accommodate slightly higher insteps (more volume). The higher walls are the largest difference.

Many people have issues with toe box depth, as in they feel pressure on the top of their toes or on the corners of the 1st or 5th. There are a few medical conditions that require more depth in the toe box which is why orthopedic shoes focus on this. Even if you don't have one of these conditions, wearing a last that has a deeper toe box feels great. The exact opposite might be a loafer with a very thin toe profile that may be wide enough but basically feels claustrophobic.

Can't wait to get a pair, if the cone is higher than the Ottawa then this may be my best fitting boot.

I like Brass boots & Floyd last. They look dressier in person like Wyatt said, a middle ground between Alden Indy and RW moc toe. I have an E width, thicker forefoot, and thinner C ankle. The extra toe height allows more room where my foot bends, very comfortable. The heel is definitely roomy, but the boot quarter helps keeping it in place.

Unfortunately, the oxfords/derbies do not fit well because there is no tall quarter to lock down the heel and prevent slipping. I assume Alden would be my best fit, but they are out of my budget and seems to have more QC issues than GS despite the high prices.

Another selling point for me is the new commando sole. Offer it in the current Edward/Diesel line up and take my money!
