Thanks, so likely to darken a bit more over time?

Natural chromexcel does darken over time but if you use minimal conditioner or creams, it won’t become much darken than the loafer here.
This pair is darker than your average dune because I have applied neutral Venetian and wax multiple times before taking photos. When applying the cream, it’s instantly noticeable that the color was affected.

We rename most of our leather colors to avoid confusion. For example, other brands might sell a “brown CXL” boot and we could name ours brown CXL as well but they could be two different colors because horween offers more than one brown.

Its also common for tanneries to develop a color (say snuff) and release newer versions down the road. If you use the tanneries name, it can be confusing if other brands use the same name but offer slightly different hues.

Oh wow I'm glad the storm kudu was a success. It's great to see manufacturers take a chance on unusual colors and materials, they give prospective purchasers more options.

Attention Grant Stone menz: Question for those of you who have the GS LWB's. Is the broguing/punched pattern larger scaled than Alden LWB's? I mean, all along the shoe (not just the medallion). If so, is it closer to vintage Nettleton or Trickers?

Here's a pic of my Dune longwings with my tan Alden pair. The pattern is bigger, obv different medallion and overall presents more casual. I'll look when I get back at my old Florsheims, but overall it think what GS is doing is heritage-inspired but their take on all of it.

My contribution to the Dune color palate. First day it hasn’t been raining in nearly a week. I’ve been wearing the aforementioned other manufacturer beatthecrapoutofme boots for a few days. It is so nice to slip back into the GS. Loafer in the winter. Why not?
