Quick size question on the GS belts. If I wear a 32 inch in jeans (Levis), would the 34 size belt be the ideal one for me?

Finally - my first couple of GS boots are on the way. Crimson Ottawa and Bourbon Suede Ottawa. Also picked up a Color 8 belt.

The Ottawa/ NST design is a bit of an acquired taste but the bug does bite hard once you do acquire the taste for this design. Like countless others, I was initially a bit unenthused about NSTs, but the more I saw them online the more the symmetrical design grew on me.

If these turn out to my liking, will consider picking up the Color 8 variants when they are released early 2022. The incoming belt should give me a good idea of the exact nature of the Color 8 CXL.

Nice, I love my Brass Boots. The Floyd last fits me better than the Leo. If I didn't have the Ottawa in dune I would have probably grabbed what you did.

Color 8 would have way more reddish tones (dark brownish red) whereas the Crimson is predominantly brown with reddish undertones. The belts look quite distinct in their colours on the website.

Since you own both, let me ask: would you describe the difference in fit as just the vertical space above the toes? I have wondering if the toebox is actually any wider. What I need in the Leo last is more horizontal space for the big toe specifically.

Good point, I was looking at the photo with the model. The photos with the belt laid flat are much more distinct.

I have crimson CXL and color 8 CXL belts. I could take a picture when I get home from work, but I can assure you they aren't even close. I actually prefer my crimson CXL belt with my color 8 shell cordovan boots currently as color 8 CXL is much much lighter. Perhaps once the shell fades the color 8 CXL will be a better match.

Yea, i did notice that particular pic. I think the pic with the model is actually one where he is wearing the crimson belt (though all other pics are of the color 8 belt). So I can understand your confusion.

PS: If I am not wrong, the model is Wyatt the founder of GS himself. just a guess though!

I feel for me personally, the Floyd last has a bit more of a shallow instep because I do feel slight pressure on my left foot which I don't in the Leo. I feel my heel locks in better on the Floyd last. More room horizontally and vertically in the toe box but the horizontal is probably just the taller side walls so my pinky toe isn't as tight
