One of the reputed strengths of London House (I have no first hand experience) is the technical skill of the tailors and finishers. I have heard they make a point of having the best pay scale in Naples. Will Genarro have access to the same quality of workers? Is it like Savile Row in that their is an ecosystem of outworkers/subcontractors that the cutters can send work to or will Genarro have his own staff?

Sounds like Gennaro has catered to a select cadre of private clients (like T4 and C&A) for awhile, so I suspect he already has a crew of tailors and finishers in place.

Must be nice. What fabrics do Steed excel in working with in terms of styling and fit? And what fabric will you use for Genaro?

Steed cuts a very distinctive vest with pleats.

It's not a cut and dry thing. Some fabrics look more at home with some silhouettes; others look better in different silhouettes. Steed can work with any fabric. It's just about how you want your final product to look.

@dieworkwear Any idea what the the plan is for the frequency of visits to SF?

Not yet. I'm still working out details. For now, however, it would be good if people thought about what they might want to order. Our ability to get him out here depends on how many orders we can drum up.

@T4phage can correct me, but I believe prices are still being set. However, they're looking at about $3,700 for a suit. Gennaro still has to figure out travel costs to be sure. Obviously, sport coats will be less.

Ballpark, however, this seems like in the range of other traveling tailors that are popular on this forum.

from what i know
it is around that
amount more
or less

Thanks, dieworkwear - that sounds very fair. Hopefully, they're amenable to CMT as well.

for sure
i and others
have done
cmt

Hi T4

Would you mind sharing pictures of your completed Panico suits?

Thanks

i believe i
only ever poasted one
pix of a panico suit
after a drinking binge

and i only
posted one pic of

in appropriate colours
these are my

ones

i don't take
selfies
or toilet shots

but if you
look at most

What does this mean for Rubinacci? Will there be a lose in quality now that their head cutter has left?

it would be interesting to hear. We had this debate before with Matt and he stated that he would stick with the House rather then following the cutter. My own experience is that many customers ends up following the cutter in his new ventures, not only when they set up on their own, but often even when they change Sartoria they work for. The person that introduced my family to my tailor had followed him across three Sartoria until he set up on his own.

He is not the first to leave Rubinacci and start a successful independent career and will not be the last
