You could always use a sock or a paper napkin, among other possibilities.

It's starting to sound like that, with all these household item options, you are all suckers for paying for pocket squares.

    ETA:

Socks would give me some pattern options. Hmm.

I have no non-white pocket squares. I'll be posting a 3 pattern effort for entertainment purposes only.

    Do you have a sharpie?

    Problem. Solved.

Hehe, valid point re: the sharpie, though I suspect that a white pocket square marked up with a sharpie would get no votes anyway. I sure as hell wouldn't vote for me if I did that.

Can a vest count as one of the four patterns?

interesting. see below, i wonder where a vest falls. what of the core 4 (jacket or pants/shirt/tie/PS) will become solid in swap for the vest? i would think the core 4 have to all be patterened.

I did a solid shirt today and a patterned vest. Back to the drawing board I guess.

I think as a concept, this almost works? If you could find a combination of patterned fabrics with trousers that matched either the coat or the waistcoat and that worked together...I think Loro Piana has a book of flannels designed to match each other, say a chalk stripe two piece and a hounds tooth waistcoat ?

I'm new to this forum so I don't know if these Friday challenges are normal, but I like the idea. What's the deal? Is there a bunch of voting that goes on? Are multiple entries allowed? Can I just throw up several iterations for the hell of it because I think I can pull it off? Working without a net here, people!

Thanks! I'm basically self-taught, but I like to think I know a thing or two about color and patterns. Do I get slapped on the wrist if I post more than one?

This really depends on your artistic talent. There's no reason for us even to know it's been Sharpied if done well. Are you up to the challenge?
