How much of a difference is there between F and E in Edward Green, and also compared to the same fit in Crockett & Jones? Thanks for any replies

World of a difference. The F is considerably wider.

The Edward Greens E width is close to Crockett Jones E width, perhaps a bit more generous depending on the last.

The most pronounced difference to me between EJ and CJ lasts is that the heels on EG are much more fitted. I can't seem to avoid heel slippage on CJ no matter the size

Thanks that’s helpful. I am trying to decide whether to get a 202 in F vs E... too wide might be better than too narrow...

I find 202 to be generous at an E width. Depending on the length of your shoes, 202 in F just sounds blobby
Oh no. I’ve ordered and it’s being delivered by courier - I thought I’d purchase before the Covid lockdown. I’ll find out soon ?

Look everyone has different style preferences and feet. If your feet are on the wide side, then the F width may be what you need.

My MTO mink suede Dovers on R1 soles. Thinking of doing snuff Dovers for the spring so I can have two pairs in rotation.
