Frank Shattuck appears to have recently completed a rather bold example of the type.

Curiously, It looks from this angle that the edge of the jacket overlaps the right-side pockets, but I suspect that it just comes very close. Also note: two buttons on each sleeve.

I can't say that I would choose these proportions for myself, as I'd look less like I was wearing a suit than the box that it came in, but I would think that whoever did isn't here to f**k around. I have to admire it; it strikes me as something that one would only commission knowing just what you god damned well want.

What I like about double breasted suits is how versatile they can be

That's a 6x2 though?

I think that it might be a 5 x 2; I don't see sixth button on the upper right, or anywhere else.

I wonder if anybody has ever tried making a 6 x 3 with the lapel rolled like a 6 x 2, on the model of a 3-roll-2 single-breasted jacket. Would that be a 6-roll-2... a 6 x 3-roll-2... ?

Please stop me before I ask a tailor to try that.

That's sounds like the sort of weird thing that someone like Frank might steer a dandy away from. I'm going to go out on a limb and wager that he just pulled a big man's 6x2 jacket over a medium dress-form. But that's just me guessing. @Toninno enquiring minds want to know!

That's a good explanation, that did not occur to me, for something otherwise a little inexplicable. It would also explain why the front panel seems to overlap the pockets as it does.
