My preference would be mock toe, commando sole, contrast stitching where the upper meets the midsole (like my rough-out ones) and undecided between willow and oxblood...

I'd be down for this...just oxblood. I think willow is too light and similar to the ones I already have.

Well, the questions have gone in to the shop for the factory, so see how quickly they can get back to us.

If it really looks like a viable option, then I'll move this to its own thread for greater visibility - I'm sure that the rest of the forum are just assuming that people are still wanking over their Harlechs online, every time this gets bumped!

man shell cordovan mto or bust

Bugger that, for this makeup at least! C&J don't recommend shell for boots designed for poor weather, as per a conversation when I was first thinking of my single order MTO...

On another note, I've been told that the shop manager will pick up the questions in my email with the factory next week.

Guys,

I did receive a reply from nice folks at Horween, they are too willing to sell zug leather direct, they call it Aberdeen Muskeg. However they did ask me what weight we need and how much of it. At this point first thing first. We wait for C&J reply and take it from there.

I guess there is a shell, but not zug shortage. Although I have lots of love for Horween, I am also concerned about the shipping costs to get it across the pond. Leather quality is something I have no real experience with (besides, "oh, that's nice") and hopefully someone can provide information about weight and thickness.
