Colored Dress Shoelaces?

I just bought a bunch of colored shoelaces--they seem to be mostly red, pink and orange--from a seller on SF. I did notice that someone had asked the seller if he/she had ever seen these in action. I myself have not, my sources (due to my location in Upstate NY) being solely publications: GQ, British GQ, Esquire (both) and Scott Shulman's book, "The Sartorialist." I can see these working on a brown fashion forward lace-up, in a business casual setting even with a suit, but not with traditional or even any black shoes and certainly not for formal business use. Actually, truth be told, I don't quite know what to do with them, but at two bucks a pop, I figured what the hell.

Any thoughts? Thanks.

L.

I don't really see myself using colored laces at the offices. I love using them on black derby / oxford with jeans though, i think it's where their best use are.

I bought some too, but haven't gotten to using them yet. It's too crazy for me, and I don't hold back in color.

I am persuaded. But my wings are not the Kenmoor, just the standard Brooks Bros. I do like the look with the selvedge jeans turned up. I do that so that will work for me. Do you think adding a Brooks university blazer (it's the heavier wool one with the slightly narrower lapels, patch pockets (came with a doofy crest-chucked that), gingham shirt and a bow tie is too much?

Not sure what you mean by Kenmoor, those shoes are Florsheim Royal Imperials in shell cordovan.. they aren't made anymore but you can find them everywhere for cheap -- thrift stores, eBay, etc.

As to the outfit I described, I'm no expert. It sounds like a lot of look, but why not try it? Post it to WAYWRN! Those guys will tell you if it looks stupid.

Sorry, I though they were the Florsheim Kenmoor which I thought was the elongated version. I did notice the shell cordovan-very nice. I agree it's a lot. The bow tie really burns it. I only have one and when I wore it I kind of felt like a douche. But in this town, my taste is generally regarded as unassailable so no one said ****.

Bleachboy, you win today's award for recommending something I must have! Just picked up a pair just like yours from the 'Bay for $100. Do wish the seller had hit them with some edging, but I can take care of that. Thanks for the recommendation!

Please resize the picture. From the 10% of it that I could fit on my screen I think I've liked it very much.
