exhibit B: (lol)
Yah, they were called altezza lights too. They were going crazy. And APC, I remember selling stickers/decals of it at PepBoys and would everyone would put it on top of their windshield like its the coolest shit ever. Thank god that phase is finally gone.
yes, that was a terrible period in car tuning - but before jet kept it real with knit sweaters, he kept it real with cars, and we all survived.
nissan still uses altezzas in their altimas uke:
i want to smash them in whenever i see them
I prefer well-done Altezzas to tinted tails, lol.
well-done altezzas does not compute. i'd rather see tinted tails than altezzas.
Damn, they're still doing that? I know they got rid of it in the coupe, the sedans still have it? Its up for an update anyways, I think they'll be introducing a new one at the NY AutoShow next month.
here's the 2012 altima sedan
Porsche offers them as an option on the 911 and I've seen a couple BMW f10 with them as well, so damn ugly.
Do they? The 991s taillight is so slim and small, how can you even make them have altezzas? Any pics?
It's on the option list on porsche's website if you go in to configurator.
It looks like this
Those look like the 997 though and it really isn't altezza to me. Altezza has to be clear tails with chrome and round orange lights, like from the car that started it and where the fad was named after, the Toyota Altezza/Lexus IS300 and probably the only car to do it right.
We actually still have cars like that and they still win trophies.
You should see some of the cars, that still win trophies, it's so damn ridiculous.
It's a different car culture niche. You won't see a 1955 Porsche Spyder at those shows, but at others would be pulling trophies.
Still is sad though...
I know where it came from and in my book all white/clear tail lights go in to that category, as they all look like shit
