I assume superior to AE indy liners?

[goes to closet, fondles insides of several pairs of shoes while staring thoughtfully into distance]

Short answer is they are comparable. The AEs are higher variance, which is to be expected. On average, the Carminas are a little bit ahead, but my the liners from my best AE Independence models (Palm Beach) are a bit nicer, actually. Close enough that it would probably be hard to tell through socks.

I'm curious about this now. I heard kid lining was more for going sockless.. all my Carminas so far have calf lining. Wonder if it's worth it. I don't think there's a price difference so I guess it's just a question of preference..

There is no price difference. The kid is notably softer and I would absolutely go that way if the plan is to go sockless.

I had some concerns that the kid would be less durable, but no issues thus far. One of my kid-lined pairs gets fairly heavy wear (relative to my rotation size).

I have a pair of CXL LWB's with Dainite soles. Compared to my leather soled shoes, I find the sole very hard, borderline uncomfortable. Especially for my heels. Is it just me, or is Dainite soles harder than leather soles? I have been considering going to the cobbler and ask him to reconstruct the heel with a softer material.

Tip time, everybody!

We will be launching our anual custom weekend this weekend. Carmina will be offering custom made shoes without the customisation fee. The fee will only be waived during the weekend, however we expect a great amount of orders which will probably increase manufacturing times.

For any of you who cannot wait 45 days, we will like to give you a head's up with a special code for styleforum : CUSTOM-WEEKEND-STYLEFORUM

Any order placed today with this code will have preference during the manufacturing process.

Have fun, and of course, we're here to answer any queations..

I have same issue but at end of a day. Leather sole are definitely much more comfortable that’s for sure vs danite at least for me.

I recently got a pair of chukkas on the Costix last. Not a very common last, it's really nice, with a semi square toe.
