Maiden voyage of my Rubi Cordovan slippers that I MTOd in the fall fee waiver sale. These are on Uetam with a single JR sole. Very comfortable and I'm happy with the way these turned out.

Anyone have any fit/sizing info on the new Sineu last? Haven't been able to find anything other than the stock Carmina info, which is spare at best...

I ended up getting these MTO adelaides remade on Alcudia last. Fit isn’t quite is good as I’d hoped (actually more volume than expected) but I think they’ll serve me well.

I like them. Any idea how the Alcudia compares to Simpson in terms of fit?

I can only compare to Rain. You might want to check out the Carmina sizing thread. SF member jet stream has both Alcudia and Simpson lasts and I believe has made some comparisons.

I would appreciate if you can comment on fit between Rain and Alcudia. Rain last is just fine for me but. what about Alcudia. More or less toe room? Higher or lower toe box? Instep? What is the process to have them remade? Just send them to Carmina as regular re-crafting? Thank you in advance.

Apologies gents (or for my Canadian friend: sorry), I missed the page.

Simpson and Alcudia are very similar; Alcudia has a slightly higher instep and a larger opening at the throat. Alcudia has slightly less room in the toe box for the big toe due to the shape, but not enough that I notice a difference from Simpson. If Simpson is fully closed for you or you have very skinny ankles, it’s possible Alcudia would be slightly big, but I’m guessing that Alcudia would work for 90%+ of those who like Simpson. The biggest difference is just the toe shape.

I find rain to have a much higher volume, a much bigger heel, and less room for the pinky toe in the same size.

I went with an adelaide with a heel counter in the pattern Carmina showed here on Simpson. This will be my first adelaide, I've been admiring all of the posts by @jet-stream and all his amazing pairs. I thought my first pair would be in navy cordovan later this year, but I guess plans change.

I suppose I should acknowledge bias again, but it seems to me you have excellent taste! The sad thing is that you’ve probably only seen about half of the Adelaides I have (I have plenty from another maker as well).

Navy shell will be there when you’re ready. It’s awesome.

Hello everyone. I have a quick question: I’m looking at some quarter-brogue black oxfords and/or the brogue captoe oxfords. These only come in the tomir sole in the rain last and I really prefer leather. I guess my concern with the tomir is that it is less formal than the leather. Also, all my Carmina shoes are leather soled and I love them. I will wear these mostly with suits. I could always go with the Adelaide, but I am not as crazy about that style. At any rate, just looking for some thoughts/opinions. Thanks in advance
