Dear Folks:

This is the listing for a tweed sack coat I am selling. It's a trad item from the time of LBJ or early Nixon, I reckon.

I like to research the labels but this one is in a cursive so elaborate that I am not sure what the letters actually are. Gort M Leed? That gets zilnch on google, so it must be something else.

Sharper eyes?

Tried that too. No google hits that are clothing related.

If it's RTW, which it is, there was company, and some record of something. Or other people are offering pieces for sale somewhere. Gort M Leed/Reed isn't giving anything.

You can see the name more clearly in this eBay listing.

Doc, how did you find out the reference ebay listing?

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
