Really? 20 years of using the site and them having my Tax ID number isn’t enough?

Sold a bunch of boots on ebay this month after not selling there in > 1 year. I had to provide my tax ID and upload a photo of my passport in order to get paid out with their new system. I am in the US and have had this individual ebay account since like 2000.

Also, when TF did they start charging commissions on shipping and sales tax?

To add to this, I see that this dude has placed a bid at $24.99 (he offered $20 in another message today). This could be fun.

One for the block list... Tried to extort money for feedback. Refused to return for a refund, and left a neg, lying about non-existent damage. I'm checking whether the 'Bay will remove it, as he would not first seek a refund.

The irony is, I wanted him to return the jacket, as I wish I had kept it for personal!

After looking through a hundred or more listings on eBay today, I get why people don’t expect measurements to be in the listing. I’ve seen a few listings with incomplete measurements, and maybe one that had sleeve length provided. No surprise, the one with complete measurements was from a SF old timer who I haven’t seen here for ages.

I am convinced that in spite of providing measurements most people will not use them. The vast majority of my returns are for fit. People just will not use the small amount of brain power that it takes to understand how to measure and compare.

And the average small time seller doesn't understand measurements, so of course they don't include them.

It’s ridiculous given how simple it would be to provide sleeve length in listings for dress shirts.

If by sleeve length you mean from the sleeve seam to the end of the cuff, I don't provide that. We have had a discussion here before, and I seem to be in the minority on this issue. On an off the rack shirt, I provide neck-sleeve and P2P. That's it. On a custom made shirt I provide any measurement that is requested because it is possible that a custom job has an odd fit.

Reasons why I don't provide sleeve seam to cuff (YMMV and your opinion may vary):

1. Neck label to sleeve cuff answers the important question, which is 'Where will the sleeve hit my wrist'. If you have wide or narrow shoulders in relation to your sleeve length (in neck-sleeve format) and you want to know where the sleeve seam will hit your shoulder, then you need to be asking about shoulder width, not sleeve length. If you have shoulder width and a standard sleeve measurement (neck-sleeve) then you know everything there is to know about 'sleeve length'.

2. That said, here is the ultimate answer: I don't want every buyer. After providing this measurement many times I decided that it was a red flag for a buyer. A sign of a fussy buyer who either will not buy or will return the shirt. Length on an off the rack shirt is the same. If a prospective buyer doesn't tell me that he has a long or short torso, I won't bother measuring the length of an off the rack shirt. Shoe sole measurements fall in the same category.

I don’t particularly care how they measure, just that a measurement is given such that I can compare to my shirt for fit.
