Hey guys, I was checking out a couple of trenches that are currently on ebay and was wondering if I could get your input on what you think about them. Just looking for a classic Burberry Trench that goes down to about my knees to use as a spring/early summer/fall raincoat. Little about me is that I'm 6'2" 200 pounds and wear a 43L usually in suits. Thanks for any input you might have.

Compare the Burberry labels on the 2 coats.
Somehow the second link you provided, does not say 'made in' under the Burberry name.
I am not an expert on Burberry,
but that is somehow suspicious to me.

As you probably know,
there are more fake Burberry products, than any other high-end brand name.

Now I am not saying the second link is a fake.
I am only saying that the label is suspicious to me. (possibly my own ignorance)

Burberry trenchcoat labels will have either Burberry -or- Burberrys'
If memory serves, that change occured in 1996

Also, it certainly IS possible to purchase authentic used Burberry trenchcoats on Ebay.
The top end of their line retails for almost $2,000.
Getting one for under $200 is less than 1/10th of Retail..and who can complain about that?

Pre-owned (used) is fine.
What IS important also,
is the length of the coat.

[OK] Just above the knee is the current trend (think Mackintosh)
[OK] Just below the knee is the traditional length, and still fine.
[NO] Just above the ankle is out, period.

One thought also,
If you purchase a Burberry trenchcoat or raincoat,
never leave it un-attended, because it will get stolen.

A friend of mine left his un-attended in a resturant to use the bathroom,
and when he returned to his table it was gone.
Have you ever seen a grown man cry?

Should you purchase a Burberry trench/rain coat, I congratulate you in advance.

Perhaps someone else can help with some thoughts?

Thank you for the reply. Appreciate your insight. I don't have a whole of experience with Burberry Trenchs so its hard for me to judge the authenticity as well. Also, I definitely prefer the length that goes to the knee. The short just looks a little goofy on me as I am on the taller side. Hard to figure this stuff out on Ebay but as you said I don't mind a preowned coat like this and it sure beats paying 1200 retail.
