Brands coming out of college campuses?

I realize that the college market is saturated with the streetwear scene and skate-oriented fashion but you almost never hear of a brand starting out on a college campus. I feel thats disappointing since it'd be an ideal place to promote for a young start-up. Anybody aware of any college brands that aren't directly oriented with the college feel itself but moreso the fashion an style factor?

Superdry was started at my university. Now the dude is worth £300,000,000 and helping to launch a new clothing line run by a guy in the year above me.

When you actually think about it, a lot of the most successful street/skate brands are started by dudes who didn't even go to college.

Did the guy from Supreme go to college?
How about Shawn Stussy?
That Bape dude?

Most people either drop out or don't go to college. Think about it, you can spend a minimum of $30000 to go to college or you can put that money towards your brand startup. Not a lot of money, but enough for a modest start.

Southern tide, Southern proper, vineyard vines.

The brands that keep colleges at a decent level of respectability among certain circles
