+1. I don't remember her at all. Of course, I don't remember the series either, but that's besides the point.

Ironic...17 pages of people loving Nucky, Chalky and the sniper. I mention I that detest Van Alden and now he is a forum favorite.

Glad Eli is sheriff again although I do not get why he lost the position, only to get it right back. The tool Nucky appointed would not have made a good sheriff. Can't wait for season 2. If only HBO could get Entourage and Boardwalk Empire to run consecutively.

I always liked Nelson. Perfect casting, and I think that guy is a really great actor.

Eli lost his position because of the fight that he had with Nucky. He said something (can't remember quite what) that struck a real nerve with Nucky and Nuck reacted hastily by replacing him with a deputy. Remember, Nucky has a special little crater of hatred carved out in his heart for his brother due to the fact that their father always liked Eli better than him. You see this again when he mocks Eli for reading Dale Carnegie and attempting to give that speech at the Irish Heritage dinner. Nucky, being as smart as he is, realizes that he does not want to make an enemy out of his brother and also knowst he react harshly and hastily when he screwed Eli over. As a result he has the mayor elect reinstate Eli as sheriff. Also, my heart is big. While I love Margaret and Nelson, I have lots of room left for Nucky, Chalky, and the sniper.

I actually don't think Nucky handles business in an emotional manner like this. I think Nucky removed his brother and appointed the sweet little doofus to distance the local republican party a bit more from the corruption, bootlegging and shootings taking place. This way, when Nucky and the Sheriff are throwing their weight behind their candidate, it's not Nucky and his Crooked Brother Who Got Shot In A Casino. Immediately after winning the election they restored Eli. They always wanted Eli to be the sheriff, but he was a political liability during the election.

I guess that would explain why he burned down his father's house after taking the time to restore it.

Between the finale of Boardwalk and SAMCRO, it's been a great season for crime shows. Both looked at criminal empires and machinations from different perspectives and both pulled it off brilliantly.

Boardwalk has done a great job of keeping the historical time line intact, for the most part.

You are correct, it wasn't.

Tina Holmes was the Quaker girlfriend, Maggie.

The series could have appealed to a lot more 18-25 year olds had it been named "Boardwalk Vampire". Add some Zombies and Ninjas, even a cameo from Bill Compton. Hit, hit, hit.
