I'm having trouble finding black shoes for every day use. For wear with chinos and jeans.

I'm a college student and will be walking around in them a lot, so I can't opt for nice lace-ups due to lack of comfort. Also don't want boots for the same reason.

Yet everything less casual looks tacky from what I've seen (too "old man"ish if you will).

Will something like this look good with chinos? Or do I need something more dressy? Even shoes like this aren't as comfortable as I'd like them to be.

Would appreciate any and all suggestions!
also, pics are always appreciated

Why are you set on black? It seems you are going to be very casual so to wear black shoes would be a bit schizo.

If you are dead set, how about some wingtips to give a more casual touch?

Good shoes are comfortable. Crappy shoes feel like crap.

Brown is your friend. It is more versatile for chinos and jeans. Laceups and boots need not be uncomfortable, at all.

Consider a chukka boot or a plain toe blucher. I would ( and have ) gone for an indy boot.

BTW, whatever you decide, do not buy these. They are ugly as hell and don't go with anything.

These were posted in another active, and I must say, quite popular thread:

I could have this slightly wrong, but the owner wrote that these were made by putting together five other pairs of shoes.

Shoes were not taken apart and reassembled. Patterns used to create five different boots were used to make these.
