I don't really want to derail the discussion, but the government does provide quite decent health care for its employees...

Exactly. And with far less bureaucratic overhead than the supposedly more efficient private sector does. My point, which I assumed was obvious, is that the government, not Starbucks, ought to be insuring Starbucks' employees rather than forcing them to rely on that company's current generosity.

But back to logos. Here's the evolution of one of my favorites, and it's from a country that does healthcare much better than we do as a society.

My favorite is the middle one, for reasons that have already been discussed. (No color to clash with the car's color, and so on.)

I wasn't quite sure if the Goddess of Speed was the logo of Packard at some point or not, considering the ever changing logos during the early years. There's nothing more that I miss on cars than the elegant (or sometimes brash) hood ornaments. Of course if they did it now it would come off as a bit tacky.

Packard "Doughnut Chaser" and distinctive radiator cowl shape.

That it still the one they use on the front of their cars, if I am not mistaken:

I second the vote on Schwab, we had an exhibition of his work several years ago.

The Doughnut Chaser is actually my least favorite of the Packard hood ornaments. I far prefer a Lalique hood ornament to any other kind. My favorite is the Chrysis.
