i went with another user from here named "quar"
i ordered some shirts as he had an offer on thomas mason shirting. obviously i havent received them yet so i cant tell you much about the quality. id note that he only had 3 collar designs with him (although you can customise them) and only offers one type of button, which were a bit thinner than i prefer.
he had some examples of jackets there which looked very nice, although no better than chan. the prices were on par with what i hear chans prices have risen to. i was shocked to see a suit from any of the lessers books at over 2k usd.

Gordon's price is almost 50% higher than chan's....I reckon their price is a bit steep, but I never had experience with them personally...

Any recommendations for a navy or dark brown wool shawl collared cardigan in Melbourne or should I be looking overseas instead?

Gerry, I have several that I picked up in the US from RRL, JCrew and Club Monaco. I know Drakes have some nice ones, though they're out of my price range.

Coffee soon?

Looks like you have been Nakhling?

Haha.

Yes. Pic was taken in Charles shop, and the shirt is from Charles.

A Sic Tess 2-fold 120 oxford, which is no longer in the books.

Thanks, Tarang. Drakes is somewhat(!) out of my price range as well :) How do you find the fit of the ones you have?

Coffee sounds good - PM me with details. I have some cordovan to show you ;)

Cordovan. Oh boy! I'm wearing some Color 8 boots today.

Fit is great on all of mine. J Crew and Club Monaco, when on sale, offer excellent value for money. I think Howard Yount knitwear also gets a good rap on the forums, but I don't own any myself.

Will PM you re: catching up.

I got some Florsheim Imperial longwing bluchers in burgundy and have a pair of RL Marlow penny loafers on the way. My shoe needs are truly filled! :)

Thanks for the info on the cardigans. I'll look out for sales.

Saw this - http://jpressonline.com/sale_sweaters_detail.php?id=CHO1650T_NAV - after following a Put This On link about Shaggy Dog sweaters. I have bought from J Press before, the customer service was good and the shipping OK esp. if you buy a few of those things that are cheap in the US (I got ribbon belts and ribbon watch straps).
