I get that they aren't to your taste or your standard, but there is no need to shit on a new poster who is obviously just happy he has a decent pair of shoes.

Romp, sizing issues with the munx?

Ive always been a laces guy - thought the munx would fit snug but they fit a bit like loafers and ive got shoe-security issues haha

they are heaps more comfy and softer than my calf oxford laceups though! such a shame

Aah, that is a shame. I'm trying to break in the captoes today coincidentally. The leather does seem to be a little stiffer than the Carmina's when they were fresh.

I agree - mine took about 3 weeks to break in. First week i needed band-aids where the leather creases. Now im all good though!

My MTO pair is ready in 10 days (and i also managed to be first to get flush toe caps!!!) so ill report back how the higher grade goes.

PS - Dub monks are sold pending payment. Thanks guys.

Im not here to stroke egos sorry buddy. They're average shoes at best and the whole 'coming to Sydney now' thing is just laughable

You leave your opinion, i leave mine. Thats how public forums work. If you cant take criticism, don't post

I've got nothing against the PA's, but they are a bit bland even for my conservative tastes. It's hard for a black captoe not to be bland though, especially for us fussy bastards that have very high expectations. At the price point they are at there is plenty of others I'd take in front of them, as posted above.

Maybe inelegant is a better way to describe them? There is nothing wrong with them per se but just a few little things like the waist looks fairly wide, the toe shape a bit too round and the leather not having that deep finish you see on the likes of the higher end brands, those couple of small details I guess.

My Meermin MTO black oxford captoe is being despatched in a week or 2 and it will be interesting to see how it turns out, i'll be sure to post pics when they come and if you don't like them you are welcome to go to town :)

Bingo! Especially "waists looks fairly wide, toe shape a bit round." Not voluptuous, that's the word, I think!

What last did you specify for the Meermin MTO (wedding shoe, I gather)?

The anonymity the Internet provides is fascinating.

Yeah wedding shoes. I got the Olfe Last, black with maroon lining. I might have to email Pepe and see if he can do flush toe taps on mine too.

^^ As long as you don't start going into personal attacks I say you can fire away. Once you start attacking the person and not the product, thats when the line is crossed and you need to back the hell off.

yeah - although sometimes attacking the product can be personal too! constructive not destructive criticism is best i rkn.

"hey check out my awesome socks i love them so much"

    "OMFG those are ugly mofos!"

    LOL

Given that we're all trying to dress in a way that's pleasing to the eye / other people, I think it's actually pretty helpful that people don't sugar-coat their opinions on SF. Anyone who doesn't want to receive negative feedback has the very easy option of just not posting photos...
