actually from the Schuhstore ive only ordered from paul smith's sneaker/tennis shoe line. if u want the leather style then just order straight from the paul smith website (note those are UK sizes so subtract 1 from ur american size; i.e. US9 = UK 8). those ones i linked to are amazing. u could save up for a month and get them. as mentioned by someone else, brown shoes are awesome too. some nice brown shoes will go really well with jeans (straight leg that fit properly. do not buy anything that remotely looks bootcut, bellbottom or wide at the bottom, ever!) and with a suit. if u want slightly less expensive shoes go here http://www.barneys.com/Shoes/SHOES04,default,sc.html then choose CO-OP Shoes.shame u didnt check earlier during the sales. i picked up these two weeks ago for 170 down from 260. they from the co-op line, fit amazingly, look amazing, i wear them with nudie and acne jeans as well as dress pants and they are made in italy. if u want a bit more expensive click Main Floor Shoes.

I found that if I washed them every weekend and every other weekend used a dryel home drycleaning kit, it drastically slowed down the fading, but still by not that much. Any other suggestions?
simple, here is my policy:
  • buy more shirts so u can rotate them
  • try to wear a shirt more than once before washing it.
  • when u wear a nice shirt do not perform activities that will cause you to sweat; that means minimal dancing, don't bend over, no running (leave ample time for walking and arriving places, if u are going to be late somewhere, *******, the shirt's well-being is more important)
  • expensive shirts should be dry cleaned
  • when u wash ur shirts, unbutton all buttons to relieve stress on them while washing
  • use good cleaning detergent, buy the most expensive one u can find
  • handwash for the best treatment

Very good tips, I will use those to my full advantage. Also, these boots are just perfect for what I am looking for:

How are they, is CO-OP Barneys New York a reputable brand?

yeah those look pretty nice. they look pretty tall though. doesnt really matter since its mostly covered by ur pant leg but can make a diff when u cross ur leg onto your knee or so. it will however help keep ur ankle and lower leg warmer in the winter.

ive got a similar pair (see attached) but they are from helmut lang. definitely a versatile and chic style of men's shoe. pretty durable and they punch through snow. im not an expert on the co-op quality. the shoes i got seem to be really well constructed and they fit my foot like a glove. u dont have a barney's near you? if ur lucky they might have the model for you to try on (of course u can exchange it on the website as well). if u really want to make them look cool (and this is my personal preference, some people might find it annoying cuz of the extra noise) is to install a metal anti-wear strip across the rear, outer edge of the heel as is shown here (the ones in this image are ugly, but u can find nice ones that are straight/symmetric and dont have those stupid holes in them)

Nice, I'm probably going to get those then, hopefully find a barneys near me before I buy so I can try them out. Also, I'm trying to just fill my closet with some cheap button up shirts, then eventually start replacing them one by one with some more exspensive pieces. Who makes a cheap slim fit shirt, something easily accesable like a mall brand? The slimmer the better. I'm going to check out H&M, Zaras, and Express 1MX shirts; I know they are scoffed upon in this forum, but I need to start somewhere. Who makes the slimmest, H&M? I know that with those brands I'm really going to have to weed through the garbage, but I would rather get a good fit in a cheaper brand then buy a higher end shirt and have it fit like a tent. Also, does anybody get shirts that are as cheap as those brands tailored? Will it make a difference?
