Atlas Shrugged The Movie

Damn critics. If only people would go to the movies despite the reviews. Then quality movie trilogies like that Transformers one could get made...

The director isn't "on strike," he just gave up in the face of tough reviews.

Although, now that the film seems to be reaching the level of self-parody, I might just go see it . . .

Obviously he isn't going on strike...I'm sure when he said it he was making a joking reference to "going Galt".

Speaking of which...shouldn't he be forging on in the face of critics and setbacks, as any right-thinking Objectivist would in this situation?

This thread is the first I've heard of the film. I remember liking the book, but it's not showing ANYWHERE in Chicago. Even if it's another Battlefield Earth, I'd kind of like to see it.

Off topic, on the subject of Battlefield Earth, I also read the book and liked it in the way I liked Heinlein books. It's not great literature, but fun to read. Battlefield Earth wasn't a great movie, but it had a few moments. I will openly admit, I kind of liked it. I also slept through Wild Strawberries 6 times and declared it boring.

That sort of sci-fi can be great, assuming you have the right mind-set going into it.
