Can someone recommend the best brand of wool dress coat for about $400, to wear to work with a suit and possibly on the weekends with more casual clothes, such as jeans? I'm thinking a solid navy color works best. I'm 5' 11" 200 lbs. I wear 44R in suits.
I'm thinking about this Brooks coat when it goes on sale. Would that be a good deal for $560?

I have this coat in charcoal http://www.jcrew.com/mens_category/outerwear/wool/PRDOVR~17934/17934.jsp and it works really well for me. It's not quite as tradition as the BB coat that you posted, but a heck of a lot cheaper and still looks good on me. Gets a lot of compliments.

Conservative- you can find conservative ties in most any color, but some colors are more conservative than others. For an interview, I would recommend a darker color- burgundy is usually my go to when a conservative tie is called for, navy when I'm wearing a charcoal suit.

You could get away with anything but black. Depending on the charcoal it could work but you would have to see. Blues, greys, and earth tones will work.

My understanding is that you can't really raise arm holes, as it would require adding material and reshaping a significant amount of the structure of the garment.
