I have been patiently waiting for AT&T to get off their ass and offer me some Android options. I might have to try and wrangle an unlocked Moto CLIQ if it takes too long.

You've got AT&T? You should check out the iPhone. It's a phone, an iPod and an internet communication device all in one.

You should stop to tease him with Apple products, one day he'll have a heart attack while composing a post.

I've checked it out. no keyboard = crap. Amongst it's other major faults. I won't be getting a touchscreen only phone anytime soon, regardless of who makes it. I want buttons.

I like Android though. It's like the iPhone interface, but for grown ups.

I know, just giving you a hard time.

I really liked playing with the N97, but the OS left me wanting more. I'm also not a fan of keyboards that require two hands to type on, this is where BB, the iPhone and I Palm excel.

Patch 2.0 came out today. I'm afraid to upgrade it because I almost bricked it last time through the OVI updater. N97 is one of the best looking phones out there, but it's still buggy as hell. I wouldn't recommend anybody buy one until at least 4 months later, when they finally work out all the bugs.

I havent had any problems with bugs. Sure the regular slowing down, but that's only when I have a million things open at once. Also WTF to the guy reccomending the iphone keyboard?!?!

I've got both a RIM Bold, and an Iphone... To be completely unbiased, and honest....
After about 3 weeks I could type as fast on the Iphone as the bold...
Now I'm probably a bit quicker on the Iphone, as it has slightly better suggestive searching/typing.

still nothing is as smooth as the iphone. i don't even like the phone but it's got a smooth interface and everything else is a bad imitation. so far at least.

that said, the android phones gonna have to get massive processors in them (like the 1ghz one coming out) to fun that smoothly = battery death

The real question is how will Google turn this into a revenue stream

The inherent limitations of the iPhone interface, hardware, and connectivity help it's battery life - true, but I'd easily trade that for more functionality and options. The current lineup of Android phones battery life is overall, very acceptable. If a phone can go a full day without charging, thats enough for me.

I don't think the Droid or the unreleased snapdragon are going to suffer much in the battery life area, but I guess we'll see.
