Altering waist band

Hi guys,

Over the past few years I've bought half a dozen of suits. However, I lost a few pounds over that time. Therefore, some of them are a bit to big now at the waist (maybe also bc of the fact that I am now wearing my trousers a bit higher than a couple of years ago).

On the other hand, I recently started working and I'm not that confident I can keep my current weight for the next 2-3 years.

So my question: Is it easy to adjust the waist band now (e.g. 1.5 inch tighter) and readjust it in the future?

What should it cost approx. to let a tailor adjust the waist band of a trouser?

Thanks!

Yes, it's an easy alteration. Just ask the tailor not to cut away the excess material, but leave it folded back because you want to be able to let the waistband back out in the future.
Cost will vary depending on the tailor and where you live. Probably not more than $20.
