Hi all -

Does anyone know anything about the Sterling model in crocodile/alligator? Theres not much info online about it except one expired auction for an odd size :
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Allen-Edmon...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

Was it a limited edition or any idea of retail price?

Forgive me if this has been covered somewhere, but I dont follow this thread regularly. Any info is appreciated!

Here is a pic of my Brown Shell Strands when I first got them late spring/early summer. And also a pic of my new Brown Shell Jeffersons that arrived yesterday. You can see the color of both of them when new is very similar. Now here are some pics of them today, compared to my new Brown Shell Jeffersons. You can see that the Brown Shell Strand has lightened up over the past 4-5 months. Some of this is due to a lot of brushing, but some may be due to exposure to the sunlight. They certainly do appear different in natural light than in indoor light. Now here Are my Brown Shell Strand, Brown Shell Jefferson and Brown Shell Patriot, to give a comparison. All 3 should be the same color of Shell Cordovan, yet you can see a difference in all 3. On the shelf below you can see my Walnut Shell Macniels (2 pair) and my Black Shell Macneils. I can't promise that all Brown Shell Cordovan will evolve this way. I hope this helps.
Those are nice shell models.

Nice looking shoes in my opinion. I considered getting a pair a few months ago but I think they were around $230. I believe they are called the Schautal, at least that's what it said on the box:

These are suede MacNeils made for the European market.

To be fair, the walnuts ran out before all of us grabbed more MTOs at the RDA price... so people who bought up all the walnut paid full price, which is probably fairer.
Agreed. Obviously, I didn't seriously mean AE should have imposed any restrictions on the walnut shell. I merely wish they still had it in stock.

Got Mora 2.0s in Bourbon and am a bit disappointed in the color. Not as dark as the Bourbon Strands I already have. Thinking about going MTO for Merlot Mora 2.0s with Allison. Would be same $293.25 price, correct?

Any thoughts on a burgundy/merlot Mora? Would love to get a second opinion on whether this is something I should even be entertaining.

The bourbon is just walnut with black on top. Keep using black shoe cream until it is as dark as you want. If you want maroon/red, then go for the MTO.

Really? Has anyone actually done this?

Also, is there any different between AE walnut and RL (made by AE) tan?

I suggest contacting Allen Edmonds directly and see what information they can provide. You can also look through AE's old catalogues here and see if you can find any information.
