Ah, my error, it was supposed to be the 4028. Went down instead of up.

The ones you have are much nicer. I don't care for the dark brown/black welt. Should come as no surprise that I'm a huge fan of the natural welt. When I get my MacNeils recrafted I will ask if they can use a natural welt rather than their standard black. It gives the shoe more colour similar to the Alden wingtips.

If not natty, maybe walnut. When was the last time we saw walnut?
Walnut???? Is that even an available option? If not, it should be.
There were some runs back a few years ago. Here is a link https://www.reddit.com/r/goodyearwe..._update_allen_edmonds_strand_in_walnut_shell/

I believe that walnut is not produced by Horween any longer at least that I know of. So unlikely, but it looked awesome. Like natty shell it has an almost caramel like look as it ages.
Walnut was around with Truffle if I recall correctly. They had consistency issues people complained about it not looking exactly XYZ too. Apparently horween has stated these colors won't return. I haven't heard it directly from them but this was I've heard to be the case over the years.

@ProfilaBinding There was an olive/bronze shell that solegarb had with bonafe. I'm not sure if it is exactly the color you had in mind but it exists.

The question was proposed to Skip, and he said there is no shortage. In the natty CXL case, he said the current runs have been a bit darker, so the buyers have not purchased as much. Being a natural product there will always be variances. You can get it, it just may not be the shade Alden or AE wants, so they don't get it. They want to keep their runs more consistent, I suppose. Carmina and Bonafe do more MTOs, and can tolerate the variances in the different batches. This is all speculation, of course.
If AE is not getting Natty because it runs a little darker now, it is because of us! We are the ones ultimately demanding those light colored ones. If AE does buy the darker ones and calls them some light brown color, we still return in droves. We all created this mess. Not the shoe companies.

Indeed. In the current environment the best policy is to demur. I'm not sure why it was asked in the first place.

Regardless of #metoo #cancelculture - the question seems irrelevant to a professional atmosphere.
Exactly. The question should not have been asked.

I want a time machine to 1995. I love this catalog. Anyone have this so I can see in real life? Milford 5331-tan scotch grain calf? (I have no life)

It’s not the shoe you want, but here is some scotch grain. Hope it helps.

Had a pair exactly like the ones in the photo in mid 1990's, got the toe caught under a file cabinet drawer and trashed it, donated them to the Goodwill about a month later. Nice shoes they were.

Ordered a pair of Strandmok firsts style 4026 at the end of the buy more sale. Got them today, except they sent me 4027...doh! Also, not a big deal but surprising, some dirt/wear(?) on the sole? Maybe tried on before? Either way, my first Strandmok and pretty happy.
Those look.. Mah-velous! Enjoy. ☺

I actually like the Dylan but I can see it is not for everyone.
