Can someone recommend a good suede shampoo? Something to get some grunge and stuff out of milkshake suede?
I also used Saphir's suede shampoo and it works pretty well. You may have to use it more than once, as I found. Funny you should post this because my CM milkshake Leeds shoes are starting to look pretty dirty from high use. I've come to call them the "Covid Leeds" because they have been very convenient during the pandemic.

Ever strip a black Park Avenue with acetone and then come back with a navy or dark green dye? I can not find any reference so far on youtube or other. Surely someone else has tried this? what happens?
It’s not easy to add color to a black shoe. It requires a lot of work and a little magic. I transformed these black AE Foxboro chukkas with some green.

I did this with a pair of Alden Full Strap loafers, used Saphir products from Kirby Allison. it worked out rather well. It's easier to re-dye darker than the original, as even with 100% acetone (or whatever the Saphir stuff was) the original lighter color was still on the leather. The dye went on easier than I thought it would, and the whole thing took only a couple of hours.

Over on the west side of SMU? An older salesman there fitted me and said I’m the one guy out of 100 who should not size down 1/2 for an Indy boot. I didn’t and he was right. I wear the same size as my AE 511, 201, and 7 last sizes. Probably my high instep.
Yup, that’s the place

For fans of tassels and shorts.

long term this pandemic may be good for AE. I am seeing reports of dress shoes having a 70% decline in sales over the last quarter. The larger makers are already pivoting for more casual shoes, GYW replaced by wedge cement plain toes with tons of padding. Yet global demand for western GYW continues to be strong. Some analysts are predicting a strong rebound for Alden and C&J. If AE has the stones to keep their staples they should do well also. But expect a ton of alternative dress options. Here comes the made in India avalanche

Anyone on the east coast /southeast feel a tremor between 8:05 and 8:10am? My desk lamp shook and I wondered if something had hit the house. Went downstairs and my wife said she thought I was shaking the bed. I've just never noticed anything like that. It is Sunday. Maybe the trumpet will sound today....
