We have a winner! Brown shell Lake Forest SMU. 3rd attempt and they finally got this pair right!
After NUMEROUS attempts at finding a shell loafer that fits, this is the solution. This last is the only loafer last that fits my feet.

Hell fire tan leather. Smooth on wing and heel, sanded on vamp and quarters. Leather sole. It took forever to upload photos. You can call Chris at the bank if you are ok with pics.

After a strip tease with shell and shark, I wonder if future examples will live up to those 2.

So, pretty close as it turns out! I share your love hate with loafers, have wanted but never found a great fitting pair of shell loafers.
