I'm on the market for a pair of chukkas and have been considering the Loake Kempton, which I believe is built on the 026 last. I haven't had the opportunity to try on the Kempton, but from the few photos I've seen, the last seems to be exactly what I've been looking for - something more sleek than the Alden chukkas built on Barries, but less fancy than the C&J Tetburys. I'd like something in the middle, and the 026 seemed just around what I've been looking for. (Feel free to correct me if I'm misdirected on this).
I've recently come across Alden chukkas on a plaza last, however. Again, haven't been able to try these on, but hope to at some point. For the meantime, however, I'd like to get the community's views on how the Alden plaza last compares to the Kempton 026 last. Are they about the same, or is the plaza last still less sleek than Loake Kemptons? If it's less sleek, is there a reason why I should prefer the Alden chukka over the Kempton?
