AE price reduction coming to Canada

Was in a store this afternoon and asked about the price of a couple of new models of AE shoes. The salesperson indicated that the price was being reduced from $410 to $345 because of the strength of the Canadian dollar. This appears to be $30 more than what they are selling for at Nordstrom.

Even at $345, it's still a joke, but at least they are reducing the price.

To be fair, $345 vs. $315 is as good as it's going to get even with CAD-USD parity. It still costs to ship the shoes across the border with customs than within the US and if the CAD weakens, they'll likely raise prices. Was this at Harry Rosen?

No. Harrys last week had an AE trunk show going on and the prices were still over 400. For them trunk show meant that they had AE shoe models they don't normally carry on display in the display size only and you could order your size.

This was at the mens store in BCE place. But, I presume the other stores will follow.

Yes but it may not make sense. Shoes are 318US at zappos with shipping they will be 328. Credit card company dings you with a poor exchange rate so the 328 will become say 333 canadian dollars. This is only a 12 dollar difference. Not knowing the shipping method used by Zappos, the shipping company may then charge custom brokerage fees which will likely be more than the remaining difference.
