I was looking at the LBM camel cassentino coat:

I know this has been discussed, but how would you characterise its level of formality? Is this basically a casual coat, but done in a dressier style (double breasted, ticket pocket)? What is it best suited for?

Oh em gee why did I come into this thread??????? Grrr I might need to move some funds around to get this thing. Size 48 is 38 US correct?

Yes, but they run small - definitely go up a size to 50, especially if you plan on layering a suit or sport coat underneath.

That is a really pretty sweater. What size are you wearing Stitchy?

The button-down one is pretty sick nasty as well though...

I have last year's version, which is more casual (covered patch pockets, fade marks). I wear it with outfits up to and including a suit.

I am 5'10" and a size 40 on the slim side. After looking at the listed measurements, I decided to buy the coat in a size 50. It definitely feels "packed in" over a suit jacket or sportscoat, but still wearable. I tried on the coat in size 52 at the SF trunk show. Size 52 was way too big for me in the shoulders and the arms were too long. YMMV.
