If you participated in this year's gift exchange, this thread is a great place to show off your gifts and offer a quick "thanks" to your gift exchange partner! A special thanks to all that contributed to our charity drive! With nearly 70 people involved in the exchange this year, we were able to collect over $400 for The Ronald McDonald House!

Thanks again to everyone for participating!

This was my first time doing the gift exchange. I'm totally in from now on. Thanks to hans for taking charge.

We were already PMing earlier today, but huge thanks to capnwes. Getting a box full of fully wearable/useable items was awesome.

Group shot

Some shirts (wearing the RRL now)

Love these two so much. The sweater is Zegna Yachting and it's my new fave sweater by far.

I posted about how I always wanted a Beavis & Butthead Tommy Pullmyfinger shirt when I was in middle school. I still randomly keep my eye out but haven't found one. Wes, bless his heart, also looked for one with no luck but found this instead. When I put it on last night, my wife smiled and rolled her eyes at me. That's means it's my new hangin around the house shirt, for a while.

Broke these in today by cleaning about 3-4" of snow off my car.

Last but not least, some made in Italy lowball glasses that showed up just in time. Cat broke one of my main whiskey glasses a week and a half ago and then I broke another a day or two later. Also, those coasters were made from that 1930s drive train belt (i think that's what the note said) that Nataku found when he was clearing out that barn this past summer. Wes did some magic and now they're my new coasters. My wife dug the **** out of these. Somehow, I was out of both whiskey and Scotch, so I had to test the glass out with some brandy. It worked.

Again, thanks a ton wes. I truly appreciate every single item, including the handwritten notes. Merry Thriftmas, everyone.

Glad to see that old drive belt found some new uses! :) If your wife wants some pictorial provenance for those, here's the belt that they were made from when I found it.

One of my favorite parts of the holidays is the challenge of figuring out the perfect gift for each person. For me the best part is 'watching' the recipient open the gift and seeing that they know I really thought about them while selecting it. I have so much fun sleuthing for this exchange each year.

This year, unexpectedly, I got one of those gifts from my thriftmas gifter, @My Main Man

10 great ties.

Some Ale

BB Shetland Sweater and beautiful Harris Tweed. On the large side and I'm still dropping sizes, so I am going to use the tweed for a project I've been working on.

A great book

Another great book

And a totally freaking awesome book.

With chronological photos of the construction of the Gentleman Cave

Thanks so much, my wife and I both teared up a little when I opened it. Very nice thought. Coincidentally I just realized a couple weeks ago that I lost all my construction pics when I had to wipe my macbook this past summer.

A common theme among first time thriftmas participants when they see what some of the longer-toothed fellows are sending out. Don't feel bad. I felt the same way.

Don't let dudes who go above and beyond make you feel ashamed of whatever you send. Keep the exchange guidelines in mind and remember this thing operates 100% on goodwill and best efforts. There's no pressure here.

If you're my secret Santa, believe me when I say I'd be happy with a nice pocket square.

You know your thrift box is going to be great when it comes with a "HEAVY" sticker on it. @Nataku is a super generous guy. This thing was packed. Great mixture of brands, styles, and super minty stuff. Brioni, Kim Herring, Bullock & Jones, Em's of Mason's, Baron Wells, The West Is Dead, and more. Handwritten card came along with it too!

This was my first year and I can't wait to step it up for year two. Thanks again to Nataku and @HansderHund for organizing.

Classic Thrifter and I got each other for the thrift exchange! He sent some cool stuff down from MN to Texas that arrived today. All thoughtfully wrapped with a nice note:

My favorite is definitely a collectors item. A Lilly Pulitzer tie with whales in a light green. Will pull this out the first thing next Spring.
Also a RAZOR blade PRL tie to keep me sharp looking right away.

Brooks Brothers cords, Vineyard Vines cords, and Nat Nast silk cotton blend shorts with cool cargo type pockets in front
(which the weather is perfect for today)

I believe that is the land equivalent of a whale

I had to use google image search but yes..I confirmed those are pink whales floating around in Lilly land. That's what I get for looking at the animals upside down.
