| Never worn pair of Hermès Derby Shoes in gorgeous burgundy/cherry wood color in English size 11. Part of the Hermès collection made by John Lobb in Northampton, England. Hermès doesn't make stuff like this anymore: they outsource in Italy. These derbies are made of bespoke-grade baby calfskin, vegetable tanned leather. They can be bleached and re-patina'd if the owner wishes (very rare among English shoes). This is the quality of leather Hermès usually reserves for its handbags. The upper here is extremely supple. The heelblock has a quarter rubber insert, and is attached to the leather sole with closed-channel stitching and struck with "Hermès: Made in England, 11, Semelle cuir". Sold with the Hermès orange box and two Hermès dustbags. tl;dr: classic Lobb construction, bespoke-tier leather.
