Made a bitchin' broccoli cheddar soup and ate it with grilled cheese sandwiches. All washed down with a couple of Lowenbraus.
One of my favorites: garlic injected pork tenderloin seasoned with cumin, cayenne pepper, salt, pepper. Brown on all sides on frying pan, then add white wine, chicken stock, mushrooms or eggplant, a few cloves of garlic, fresh cilantro; then finish everything in the oven until internal temperature of about 145 F. Eat over a bed of white rice. Steamed veggies optional.
That does sound nice. I like those sorts of soups.
