Btw Brooks Brothers now sell a perforated color 8 shell belt that is made in the US using shell from horween. Looks very similar to an Alden makeup

Happy New Year to my forum pals. This is a great thread with good information and ass deep in shoe temptation. I ended my efforts with Allen Edmonds when I found Alden fit so much better, among other benefits. In 2016 I picked up 6 pairs, three on pre-order and two "on the list." I don't post a ton but I wrapped up the year by purchasing a color 8 wingtip boot from adam at AOC today. Good final acquisition for the year!

Hopefully I buy less next year.

Does anyone have an opinion on the durability of the reverse chamois? I am looking for a legitimate workboot that can handle the occasional bit of grease, oil, and would stand up over the course of several years. What can I apply to it for cleaning and protection?

I'd be primarily using these boots inside; not looking necessarily for a cold or wet weather boot. Just serious durability.
