GQ recommending worn, faded jeans for Autumn. Truefax?

GQ is pretty bad at predicting trends, despite trying very hard to establish them. (Think washed jeans, knit ties, tie bars) They are also slow to pick up on trends, IE raw jeans were 3-4 years late and then they tried to get rid of them by claiming super-light washed jeans were in without success. I would take all their predictions with a grain of salt.

On the same note, has anybody else been following these? I've found most of their tips, save for 2-3, have been miss so far. Not to mention that the host is annoying.

i don't think anyone here is giving GQ enough credit.

they were pumping APC's at MOST a season late. and it's not even as if it were too late, as raw denim is still going strong.

I'm suprised that they aren't promoting the crappy pre-creased raws a lot of stores are selling.

ya i saw those the pre creased denim at mall stores. funny thing is i haven't seen anyone actually wearing them.

its rare enough to see anyone wearing raw denim around here.

i never follow what gq says. i think they try to push whatever their advertisers are trying to sell.

Strangest raw denim I ever saw was a guy who was wearing nudies that were about 2 sizes too big, only just staying on like a skater kid. They had faded in a really wierd way, but it did suit him.

You mean all wrinkly? Or just creased at like the knees and crotch?

We've had light wash jeans from Acne and in our Diesel sale next week we will have some lighter styles as well.

While faded jeans can look good, I don't really see faded jeans as a good fall item. I find raw jeans go much better with fall colors than heavily washed jeans.

The wrinkly ones look bad enough, but the ones I mean have horizontal creases put in at the whisker area, but not in the right place. Think where your wallet would sit, that whole area has about 10-20 creases about 1 cm apart, and completely straight. Sufficed to say it looks ridiculous.

I'm 3 days in, and all I've heard is that you should

1. wear boat shoes with suits
2. buy t-shirts at the gap and wear with suits
3. buy a leather jacket
4. wear hats


the only one I enjoyed was the hat one, although I didn't need gq to teach me to do that
