Couple questions on this look.

1. Does anyone else here do it?
2. When did this start becoming popular, and who thinks it actually looks good?
3. Does it irritate anyone else as much as it irritates me?

Wasn't this guy one of the camp counselors on "The Simple Life?"

Maybe flipping them is to catch the vomit one spews when looking in the mirror. Maybe flipping the cuff up would be okay if you are wearing a sweater and push the sleeves up? How about unflipping french cuffs to make a really really long sleeve? Cris Angel does this, though not in this pic.

Flipping the cuffs over a sweater may actually be worse. It is like emulating a chain store mannequin, instead of just copying someone with bad personal style.

I sometimes roll the cuffs over a sweater with pushed-up sleeves in early Fall, though.

But yes, flipping up just the cuff, in any variation, is sort of mystifying. It's like waiting for your cat to decide whether she wants to go outside or stay inside. Cuffs up? Cuffs down? Cuffs up? Cuffs OH MY GOD JUST DECIDE ALREADY.

I'm sure you would see it on the Jersey shore as well.

Where mouth-breathers congregate, cuffs will be flipped.

I do the sleeve roll if it's hot and I'm going a little more casual. But, it's usually an "above the elbow" kind of thing -- like a mechanic.

The single flip seems a little too self-conscious. Sure it gives a you some ventilation, but then why not roll up further? I've seen the single flip around for many years. Definitely more popular than the reverse flip which I usually see on older wealthy dudes who look like they are retired podiatrists on vacation.

i don't know, the party-shirt-with-single-flipped-cuff is one thing, but with a sweater (pushed up to the elbows) it's a perfectly traditional look. i don't see why it'd raise any eyebrows, and it's certainly not one of those unwearable window display affectations.
