Yep, got mine yesterday and I kinda have the same issue (not sure if I have a big ass, I prob do). Overall, I love 'em though. The denim is really cool and the fit is great.

Here are a few snippity snap shots I took with the trusty camera phone. I apologize for the crappy quality ahead of time.

Gotta say the patch on the EP's is the one thing I'm not wild about (would prefer a natural leather) but that patch, 70gransport, has some interesting looking wear on it. How many soaks/washes are in that pair of jeans?

Hey I've one cold wash on the jeans w/o any detergent and they were hung dry. Oh yeah and a belt will cover up the patch, if you aren't wild about it.

Is the rise measurement given on the site the front rise, or half the total rise?

I love the stealth look of your black jeans, but I'm picky about rise because I have a small waist and relatively large butt (31" waist 2" below the belly button, 36-37" around the widest part of the hips).

It's the front rise. Our rear rise is about 14.25 on the Smith.

As an owner of a relatively large butt as well, I'm thinking that the Hoyt will be a better fit for you than the Smith. You might find that the Smith is tight in the seat - forcing you to size up - and then gives you too much room in the waist. That's my issue.

We're getting a revised Hoyt sample in about a week, and I'm hoping that this is the last one. The previous sample was about 95% there. For our initial order, we'll definitely do a run of Kurabo black with tonal stitching, so you'll be able to get this exact jean with the correct fit for you. I, for one, am going to wear the hell out some Hoyt blacks when they arrive.

Mike thanks for the kind words. Actually when I posted them I had visions of ******** up the thread due to poor picture quality.

Yes, we're planning to get them in about 5 weeks. We should be good with stock, but once we're a week or so out, I'll put them up for preorder.

One note - the new ones have a corrected waist size, so you no longer have to order one size down. They'll be true to size.

Sorry if someone already asked, but do you have more indigo 31s coming in? I've chosen you guys for my intro to fancy pants.

Oh yes, but not in the deadstock current model. We'll have tons of 31's in our new contrast stitch delivery.
